Mobile phones aren’t the best cameras, but they’re always with you and you can take amazing pictures if you know what you’re doing.  What can you do to make your pictures look cool?  What type of pictures look good on a tiny screen?  How can you make best use of the modes on your phone, and what can you do with the pictures you take?  We keep it all simple – the clue’s in the name!

Little cameras can take big pictures sometimes – the trick is to know what the camera is trying to do, and work with it. We emphasise composition and break all pictures into two basic kinds with tips on how to get good results with both. Even bad cameras can take good pictures and vice versa. When should you use modes? Can you cheat? We can help by keeping it simple.

If you’ve recently acquired a digital SLR you’ll be looking forward to taking fantastic pictures, but not to f stops and manual settings.  Now that you can change lenses, which lenses should you use?  Do you need a flashgun or a tripod?  Let us help – we’ve been guiding people through this for years.

People photographs are divided into formal “portraits”, where the subject is aware they’re being photographed, and “candids,” where they aren’t. Portrait photographers know it’s not quite as simple as that. We’ll help you to get natural pictures of people that capture their personalities.

Photographing a landscape means that a photographer has to choose a subject from the ones on offer. It’s like wandering through the landscape with a picture frame and choosing the bit that you want to show others. This photography course will help you choose.

Wedding photography courses can’t teach you to be a professional wedding photographer in a day, but there’s a lot you can do! If you’re one of those friends of the couple with a good camera that’s been dragged into help photograph their wedding, we’ll lend you our experience with invaluable tips for the big day.
